Bradens a force at Triathlon Collegiate Nationals

Christopher and Brittany Braden, two former track and cross country standouts at Dos Pueblos, finished among the top 10 in their respective divisions at the USA Triathlon Collegiate Nationals in Lubbock, Texas last weekend.Christopher Braden, competing for Colorado University, placed 10th in the individual men’s race to help the Buffaloes win the men’s and coed team championships. Suzuki wins Santa Barbara Duathlon’s long course

 Ventura’s Shigy Suzuki, 51, won the overall title in the long course of Sunday’s Santa Barbara Duathlon, finishing the unique run-bike-run race in one hour, 33 minutes and 59 seconds.Santa Barbaran Lee Carter, 52, finished five minutes behind Suzuki as the runner-up. Larson pedals to Carp Triathlon title

Santa Barbara's David Larson biked his way to the Olympic Course title at the Carpinteria Triathlon on Sunday, finishing the 40 kilometer circuit faster than anyone else en route to a winning overall time of two hours, 11 minutes and 40 seconds.Susan Corti, of Westlake Village, won the women's race and Rowena Spence repeated as women's champion on the sprint course. Carpinteria Triathlon set for Sunday

The 12th edition of the Carpinteria Triathlon is set to take place this Sunday in the quaint seaside town.There will be two courses — a sprint course and a more grueling Olympic course. It was short and sweet for Mike Smith on Sunday, as the 45-year-old local won the Santa Barbara Triathlon Co-Ed Sprint Course competition with a time of 35 minutes, 21 seconds. San Francisco's John Dahlz championed the Santa Barbara Triathlon's long course in 2 hours, 53 minutes and two seconds on Saturday to lead a handful of competitors that eclipsed the three-hour marker.Dahlz, 25, excelled in the swim and bike sections and built a healthy lead going into the run. Reef & Run, Nite Moves Recap

Nite Moves and this year's new Reef & Run series completed the 12th of 20 installments in the weekly swim/run event season that runs until September 8.The Nite Moves 5k run was its busiest since June 24, with 264 runners participating.
