The annual Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon took place this weekend with Sergio Reyes finishing in a time of 1:06:31. Andrea Mclarty was the first woman to cross the finish line and held a time of 1:21:03.Jonathan Pierce and Ryan Emery came in second and third overall behind Reyes holding times of 1:08:29 and 1:09:44 respectively.UCSB Basketball player Emilie Johnson finished second for the women in her first half marathon, trailing 6 minutes behind McLarty. The timing was perfect for Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon.Track and field was one of the featured sports, and Jim Sloan of the Santa Barbara Athletic Association was at Harry's Plaza Cafe to hand out checks to the track programs at the local schools.The SBAA is the longtime local running club that puts on several big races in the community. Dos Pueblos' Addi Zerrenner is headed to CIF's State Championships after her fifth-place result at Saturday's CIF-ss Division II Finals at Mt. Senior captain Adrian Walsh was Cate's top finisher at Saturday's CIF Division V Finals, while the Rams as a group finished 14th.Walsh recorded the seventh-fastest time in Cate's program history on the Mt. SAC course. Her time of 20:53 was 37th overall, leading Cate to its fifth-best showing as a team there.Charlotte Bowles followed in 21:28 with Denali Tietjen at 21:45. Dos Pueblos runners Bryan Fernandez and Addi Zerrenner both finished 11th in their respective Division 2 races, and the Charger boys placed 12th in the team competition at the CIF cross country championships on Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College.Competing as an individual, Zerrenner ran the hilly 3-mile course in 17:41.
