Season ends for DP, SB golfers

Dos Pueblos and Santa Barbara golfers failed to advance out of the CIF Individual Northern Regional at Oxnard’s River Ridge Golf Course on Monday.DP’s Vanesa Villa and Isabella Doub of Santa Barbara were the low scorers for the local  teams: Villa shot a 79 and Doub an 80.The cutoff to advance was 77.Kristin Chung of Fairmont and Robynn Ree of Redondo both shot 67, and Chung won a playoff to earn top honors.Three county players advanced to the final at the Alisal River … [Read more...]

Notre Dame golfers tear it up at Northern Divsional Finals

Santa Barbara and Dos Pueblos failed to advance out the CIF-Southern Section Northern Team Divisional Championship on Wednesday at Soule Park in Ojai.The Dons finished in 8th place with a 446 while DP was ninth at 459. The top four teams advance to the team finals next week at the Alisal River Course in Solvang.Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks dominated the field with a 376. Three Warriors earn all-league honors in golf

Carpinteria’s Lauren Taira and Zoey Luna scored their lowest cumulative 9- and 18-hole scores and earned all-league honors at the Tri-Valley Championships on Wednesday.Luna shot a 97 and Taira a 99 to earn second-team honors. Dons’ Doub holds off Villa to claim Channel League golf title

Isabella Doub wins the Channel League individual girls golf title in her first year playing for the Dons.

Sophomore Isabella Doub capped her first season as a Santa Barbara High golfer by winning the Channel League Individual Championship on Wednesday at Soule Park in Ojai.Doub fired a second-round 3-over 75 to finish at 152 and beat defending champion Vanesa Villa of Dos Pueblos by four shots. Villa shot a 76 after an 80 on Tuesday.Doub birdied No. 9 to finish with a 37 on the front nine.
