Elite Racing Team's Lauren Capone won the women's amateur competition at the Wildflower Long Course Triathlon at Lake Nacimiento last Saturday.This year marked the 30th anniversary of the Wildflower Triathlon. Nite Moves features fastest 5k, ocean swim of season

Ben Brewer has competed in all three ocean swims at Nite Moves this season, winning Wednesday's 1k race.

A pair of season-best times highlighted Wednesday evening's Nite Moves event in Santa Barbara.Josh Stichter recorded the fastest 5k time of the young season at 16 minutes and 41 seconds.Ben Brewer did the same in the 1k swim with a time of 13:20.Stichter, 28, lowered the fastest time in the 5k by nine seconds while Brewer, 14, lowered olympian Mark Warkentin's time from last week by two seconds.There were 280 runners and 118 ocean swimmers.COMPLETE RESULTSLisa Dunn was … [Read more...]

Nite Moves kicks off under stormy skies

Todd Booth, Walker Bell and Jason Smith were victors at Wednesday's season-opening Nite Moves event in Santa Barbara.All three won their respective races comfortably. Booth secured the 5k run with a time of 16 minutes and 52 seconds. Bell won the 1k ocean swim in 13:22.Smith recorded times of 14:27 in the ocean swim and 22:37 in the 5k run to become the first to complete the aquathon.In total, 259 athletes participated in the first Nite Moves of the year. Chardonnay wins go to Smith, Maclaurin

The Santa Barbara Chardonnay 10-miler and 5k  saw close to 800 finishers this Saturday after an 8 a.m. start at Leadbetter Beach.Local runners Jason Smith, in the 10-miler, and Angus Maclaurin, in the 5k, averaged 6 minute miles to win each event with times of 1:00:02 and 18:37 respectively.
