Preston Schlagel's four goals, three steals and two assists were the leading force for Santa Barbara's boys water polo team on Tuesday, as the Dons handed the Chargers their first Channel League loss of the season in an 11-5 decision.Three of Schlagel's scores came in the third quarter, helping the Dons go up 10-4. Deja vu for Royals as Golizadeh gives them sudden death victory

Chargers edged out in first game of Pal Tournament

The Dos Pueblos boys water polo team was defeated by the narrowest of margins in its first game at the Pal Tournament in Orange County, losing to Dana Hills 10-9.Sjors Van Alphen led the team with three goals while Grant Schroeder finished with two.Phillip Bates had a fine game in the goal with 11 saves.The loss places the Chargers in the 5th-8th place bracket and they will continue play in the tournament tomorrow.   … [Read more...]

In a battle between CIF ranked teams, Righetti scored with 22 seconds left to beat Santa Barbara 8-7 in a non-league boys water polo game on Thursday.The Warriors are the No. 2-ranked team in CIF Division 4 and Santa Barbara is 9th in Division 1. Cate gets first league win in final home game

Greg Cusack scored three goals and Miles Barney and Zack Allen added two each to lead Cate to a 9-2 win over Nordhoff in the Rams' final home game of the season. The victory was the first in Tri-Valley League play for Cate.
