The UCSB Gauchos will head down to UC Irvine's Anteater Stadium this weekend for the remainder of the Big West Conference Championships.Last year Long Beach State University won the men's division while the California State University-Northridge won the women's division. Cornejo, Woo snatch TVL titles for Carp
Carpinteria's David Cornejo and Noah Woo won Tri-Valley League titles at Thursday's Track and Field Championships, becoming the first Warrior boys to do so since 2005.Cornejo took first in the 300 hurdles and Woo was first in the high jump.Kelsey Drain equaled Carpinteria's school record in the pole vault with a jump of 10 feet. Poindexter repeats as Frontier champ
For the third consecutive year, Bishop Diego's Nicole Poindexter won Frontier League titles in three events, this time in Thursday's league championships at Fillmore High School.Poindexter won the 100-meter sprint in 12.50 seconds and the 200-meter in 25.60. Warriors bring in five titles at GSAC Championships
Five Warriors won GSAC Championship crowns as Westmont Men's and Women's Track each finished third at the GSAC Track and Field Championships held on Friday and Saturday in Azusa.The finish is the highest for the men since 2006 and for the women since 1999. The teams have not both finished in third place or better since 1995 when both teams were second. The men finished with 137.50 points and were second to Fresno Pacific who tallied 154.50 points. Warriors perform well in first day of GSAC Championships
The first day of the 2012 Golden State Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships is in the books and Westmont has had several outstanding performances. The event, which is being conducted at Azusa Pacific, will conclude on Saturday.Kristin Hempy had a good first day in the women's heptathlon. Final race leads Royals to a one-point victory
The San Marcos boys track and field team edged out Dos Pueblos by one point on Thursday with their 4x4 as the last event on the Chargers' track. David Cornejo and Kelsey Drain captured the 300-meter hurdles for Carpinteria's track & field team in Wednesday's Tri-Valley League meet with Oaks Christian, but the Lions were still able to record victories in both boys and girls.The boys competition was closer with Oaks Christian winning 79-55.The Warrior boys did well in the field events, winning five of six.
