Westmont won its opening match at the NAiA Men’s National Tennis Championships, beating 11th-ranked Shorter, Ga., 5-1, in Mobile. Westmont men's tennis (12-5) enters next week's NAIA National Tournament in Mobile, Ala. as the number six seed and will receive a first-round bye. Westmont coach gets last laugh after her team’s 9-0 win

Following the 25th-ranked Westmont women's tennis team's defeat of Hope International by a score of 9-0 on Friday, head coach Kathy LeSage informed her team that she was unsatisfied with their performance and was going to conduct a long, hard practice over the weekend. Westmont men's tennis, the seventh ranked team in the NAIA, posted a 6-3 win over Williams (Mass.), the ninth ranked team in the NCAA Division III polls. Westmont picked up two tennis wins on Saturday at the Abbott Tennis Courts.After completing a suspended match, Westmont and The Master's faced off again in a regularly scheduled appointment. With the wins, Westmont improves to 4-10 on the season and 4-6 in Golden State Athletic Conference play. The Master's falls to 4-10 overall and 2-8 in the GSAC standings. Playing in the Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Rancho Mirage during spring break, the Westmont women's tennis team was edged out by Mesa State of Colorado by a score of 5-4. The Warriors won three singles matches, but dropped two of the three doubles.
