Royals beat Owls thanks to doubles

  The San Marcos girls tennis team swept in doubles competition to edge Laguna Blanca 11-7 despite missing top singles player Julian Mannix.   "Our doubles were good, and they had good singles players," said coach Kara Warkentin.   Esther Tran Le went 3-0 as did Liza Fletcher for the Owls (1-1).   San Marcos (2-0) opens up Channel League play when it hosts Buena on Tuesday.   … [Read more...]

   The Dos Pueblos girls tennis team notched another mark on its belt on Tuesday by trouncing visiting Oxnard 16-2 for its third straight win to start the season.    No. 1 singles player Erica Cano and the No. 1 doubles team of Amy Sagraves-Amy Logan have yet to drop a set this year for the Chargers (3-0).
