NORTHRIDGE  – UCSB finished its season by completing a series sweep of Cal State Northridge with a 4-1 victory at Matador Diamond on Saturday afternoon.Heading into today's series' finales, UCSB and Long Beach State were both still in the hunt for the Big West Conference title and its accompanying automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. Freshman pitcher Shelby Wisdom's first career no-no highlighted UC Santa Barbara's doubleheader sweep of Cal State Northridge on Friday afternoon at Matador Diamond. Freshman infielder Jenessa Jeppesen was named the Big West Conference's Player of the Week after a standout performance at the plate this past weekend. Vaqueros win battle but not war with Canyons

After posting one of the biggest wins in program history, SBCC got knocked around in the third and deciding game of its Southern Cal Regional softball series on Sunday at College of the Canyons.Third baseman Bryn Thompson went 2-3 and drove in two runs in a 3-2 victory over the top-seeded Cougars in Santa Clarita. Top-seeded Canyons overpowers SBCC

Canyons scored five times in the fourth inning on Saturday and went on to beat SBCC 7-2 in a Southern Cal Regional softball opener in Santa Clarita. The 16th-seeded Vaqueros (23-16) managed just two hits off Kimmie Lockhart and had their five-game win streak snapped. Gauchos rally to pull off sweep of Cal Poly

Vaqueros travel for playoff series

SBCC was seeded 16th for the Southern Cal Softball Regional and will travel to top-seeded College of the Canyons next weekend.The Vaqueros, 23-15 and runners-up in the WSC Gold Division, made the Regional for the second straight year. Wisdom sets single-season wins record with 19th

DAVIS – Freshman pitcher Shelby Wisdom broke the UC Santa Barbara record for single season wins after tossing a complete game three-hitter against UC Davis on Sunday afternoon at the Aggies' La Rue Field. The Gauchos defeated UC Davis, 2-1, to avoid the Big West series sweep.With the win, the Gauchos improve to 24-28 on the season and 9-6 in league. DAVIS – In a battle between a pair of Big West Conference leaders on Saturday, UC Davis came out on top with two narrow victories over visiting UCSB at La Rue Field. Samantha Cabada homered in each game and Bryn Thompson went 5-for-7 to guide SBCC to a doubleheader softball sweep over L.A. Pierce on Tuesday in Woodland Hills. The scores of the final regular-season games were 9-6 and 13-2 in six innings.Cabada belted her first homer of the year in the fifth inning of the opener as the Vaqueros (23-15, 13-5) opened up a 7-4 lead.
