After posting one of the biggest wins in program history, SBCC got knocked around in the third and deciding game of its Southern Cal Regional softball series on Sunday at College of the Canyons.Third baseman Bryn Thompson went 2-3 and drove in two runs in a 3-2 victory over the top-seeded Cougars in Santa Clarita. Canyons scored five times in the fourth inning on Saturday and went on to beat SBCC 7-2 in a Southern Cal Regional softball opener in Santa Clarita. The 16th-seeded Vaqueros (23-16) managed just two hits off Kimmie Lockhart and had their five-game win streak snapped. SBCC was seeded 16th for the Southern Cal Softball Regional and will travel to top-seeded College of the Canyons next weekend.The Vaqueros, 23-15 and runners-up in the WSC Gold Division, made the Regional for the second straight year. DAVIS – Freshman pitcher Shelby Wisdom broke the UC Santa Barbara record for single season wins after tossing a complete game three-hitter against UC Davis on Sunday afternoon at the Aggies' La Rue Field. The Gauchos defeated UC Davis, 2-1, to avoid the Big West series sweep.With the win, the Gauchos improve to 24-28 on the season and 9-6 in league.
