Girls fast-pitch softball teams from all over central California will converge on Elings Park this weekend to compete in the ASA Western Nationals qualifying tournament.Co-hosted by the Goleta Valley Girls Softball Association, the tournament will feature more than 50 teams in age groups 10-under, 12U and 14U. Junior Hannah Harris, who pitched every game for the Dos Pueblos softball team and led the Chargers to the CIF Division 4 championship, was named the division’s Player of the Year.Harris’ dad, Lee Harris, and co-coach Donn Roberts, were picked as the Coaches of the Year in the division.ALL-CIF SOFTBALL TEAMSHarris went 22-9 with an earned-run average of 1.03. SBCC's Kailey Snyder, the Southern Cal softball Pitcher of the Year, accepted a scholarship from Colorado State on Wednesday. Dos Pueblos last played in a CIF softball title game in 2005.The Chargers are one step away from getting back to the final. To get there, they have to take a long road trip and go through one of the highest-scoring teams in the Southern Section, San Bernardino-Aquinas, in the CIF Division 4 semifinals Tuesday.Aquinas has scored a whopping 288 runs this season, is 26-1 and the top-seeded team in the division.
