The annual Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon took place this weekend with Sergio Reyes finishing in a time of 1:06:31. Andrea Mclarty was the first woman to cross the finish line and held a time of 1:21:03.Jonathan Pierce and Ryan Emery came in second and third overall behind Reyes holding times of 1:08:29 and 1:09:44 respectively.UCSB Basketball player Emilie Johnson finished second for the women in her first half marathon, trailing 6 minutes behind McLarty. Brosseau, Adams top area finishers at Boston Marathon
Lompoc’s Jason Brosseau was the fastest area finisher at the Boston Marathon, and Santa Barbara’s Susie Adams was the first local woman to cross the finish line on Monday in the 115th running of the world-famous 26.2-mile race.Brossuau, 25, finished in 2 hours, 48 minutes, 46 seconds, while Adams, 42, was timed in 3:09.58. Smith leads SB presence at Boston Marathon
Carpinteria’s Tim Smith turned in the best time of local runners competing at Monday’s 114th running of the Boston Marathon.Smith, 45, hit the finish line at Boyston Street in downtown Boston in 2 hours, 43 minutes, 53 seconds. The time was a considerable improvement over his result from last month’s Los Angeles Marathon. Gamberdellas are ready to run for autism awareness

Dealing with autism can be a grueling journey, and Santa Barbara's Cara Gamberdella is going to embark on one of her own next month to help the cause.
