WATCH OUR VIDEO------- Moninda Marube made it two for two in Santa Barbara on Saturday, returning to triumph in his second straight Santa Barbara International Marathon.The Kenyan edged out Michael Wardian, who crossed the finish line less than 10 seconds behind Marube. Rain to affect local sporting events this weekend

Rain in Santa Barbara this weekend will surely affect several sporting events, but KEYT has revised its forecast today to say less rain is expected than before.The threat of rain led SBCC to pre-emptively postpone its annual Holiday Tennis Classic until next weekend. Lompoc’s Jason Brosseau was the fastest area finisher at the Boston Marathon, and Santa Barbara’s Susie Adams was the first local woman to cross the finish line on Monday in the 115th running of the world-famous 26.2-mile race.Brossuau, 25, finished in 2 hours, 48 minutes, 46 seconds, while Adams, 42, was timed in 3:09.58. The Santa Barbara International Marathon joined forces with the long-running Half Marathon on Saturday, attracting thousands of competitors, spectators and volunteers in one of Santa Barbara's largest annual sporting events.Kenyan Moninda Marube was in a class all his own during the marathon, completing the 26.2 mile course in 2 hours, 25 minutes and 49 seconds. Smith leads SB presence at Boston Marathon

Carpinteria’s Tim Smith turned in the best time of local runners competing at Monday’s 114th running of the Boston Marathon.Smith, 45, hit the finish line at Boyston Street in downtown Boston in 2 hours, 43 minutes, 53 seconds. The time was a considerable improvement over his result from last month’s Los Angeles Marathon. Locals fare well in L.A. Marathon

There were more than a few South Coast runners competing in the L.A. Marathon on Sunday, many of whom were counted among the 22,299 finishers.Goleta's Jonathan Williams was the fastest local, completing the course in three hours, three minutes and 26 seconds. That made the 28-year-old 148th overall and 29th in his age group.Santa Barbara's Matthew Enna had an official time of 3:08:26 that was good for 216th place overall.
