Royals run strong in Ojai

Gabrielle Wildfeuer took five minutes off of her previous mark at Lake Casitas and Ian Miley shaved off four minutes on a great day for the San Marcos cross country team at the Ojai Invitational."The kids really stepped up.  SAN LUIS OBISPO — Paige Colijn was the top finisher for SBCC in the Cuesta Invitational on Saturday, taking ninth place in cross country race. She ran 21:13 in the women's 5K, which was won by Katie Dunn of Glendale in 18:47. The Vaquero women, who didn't field a full team in their first race at Ventura, placed fifth out of six teams with 115 points.    Danielle Gemberling finished second overall with a time of 19:05 in her first-ever cross-country meet Wednesday as the San Marcos girls beat out five other schools, edging second-place St. Joseph by 11 points at Riverside Park in Lompoc. CMS Sweeps Warrior Cross Country

   While Olympic gold medalists Todd Rogers, Phil Dalhausser, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh were competing in the AVP tour at Santa Barbara’s East Beach, two far more storied competitions were being held at Leadbetter Beach on the west side of Stearns Wharf.
