The UCSB men's lacrosse team held off visiting Claremont 12-9 on Saturday, claiming a key North/West Divisional win that kept the Gauchos atop the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference standings with three games left on the regular season schedule.The Gauchos, who also beat UCLA 9-4 on Feb 20, are tied with Chapman for the division lead at 2-0. Cate earned its second victory of the season by defeating Midland 11-0 on Wednesday.

Cate's boys lacrosse team pitched a shutout on Wednesday, blanking visiting Midland 11-0 for a Condor League victory.Mackie Greason and Randy Person were the biggest culprits, scoring three goals apiece.  Four Rams, Wes Greason, Conner Ingram, Harry Gruner and Michael Hassman, recorded a goal and an assist.
