Forrest Iverson carded a 2-over 74 on Monday, leading SBCC to second place in the first WSC men’s golf tournament at Valencia Country Club.Iverson, a freshman from Arcata High in Humboldt County, was playing the course for the first time. SBCC golfers place second at Bakersfield Invite

Forrest Iverson fired a 2-over 74 on Tuesday at Rio Bravo CC, and SBCC rallied to take second place in the Bakersfield Invitational men‘s golf tournament. Iverson, a freshman from Arcata, Calif., led the Vaqueros with a two-day total of 151.Canyons won the nine-team, 36-hole tourney at 739. Santa Barbara was second at 769 and Bakersfield (782) took third. Canyons shot 377 on Tuesday with SBCC six strokes back. David Aarons shot a 3-over-par 75 on Monday at the Bakersfield Invitational and SBCC is in sixth place after the first round of the season-opening men’s golf tournament at Seven Oaks CC.Canyons leads the nine-team tourney at 362, followed by Citrus and Hancock at 381. SBCC’s Nicole Bullemer recorded an 80 on Monday and is tied for sixth after one round of the Community College State Women’s Golf Championships at Kings Country Club in Hanford.The sophomore from Dos Pueblos High birdied the 10th hole on the way to a 2-over 38 on the back nine. SBCC’s Nicole Bullemer shot 79 on Tuesday to tie for ninth in the Southern Cal Regional women’s golf tournament and land a spot in next week’s State Championships.Bullemer, a sophomore from Dos Pueblos High, had a two-day total of 156 at Twin Oaks GC in San Marcos. Kristin Discipulo turned in a 78 and Emily Wisma shot 79 but missed the top 12 by two and three strokes, respectively. Kristin Discipulo shot 79 and Nicole Bullemer had an 80 on Monday but SBCC fell short in its bid for a Southern Cal Regional berth at the WSC Women’s Golf Championships.Bullemer (81-80--161) took seventh in the 36-hole tourney at par-72 Olivas Park in Ventura. Emily Wisma shot 78 on Sunday and Haley True posted an 80 to lead SBCC to third place after the opening round of the WSC Women’s Golf Championships at par-72 Olivas Park in Ventura.Glendale captured WSC No. 8 with 316 strokes, followed by Canyons (318) and SBCC (322). SBCC’s Nicole Bullemer shot a season-best 74 on Monday to take second place in WSC women’s golf meet No. 7 at Twin Oaks GC in San Marcos. The Vaqueros placed fourth with 344 strokes.
