SBCC sophomore Mark Moreno took seventh in the State Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning while SBCC's women placed 21st at Woodward Park in Fresno.Moreno, who finished second in the WSC and 16th in the Southern Cal Regional, was clocked in a season-best 20:24 on the 4-mile course. Dolan named Coach of the Year for regaining X-country title
Pete Dolan was awarded the 2009 Big West Coach of the Year Award in women's cross country, after leading the Gauchos to their fifth Conference Championship in the last seven years.UCSB re-captured the crown after a one-year hiatus, for their seventh crown overall. The women's program has won titles in 1993, 1994, 1996, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2009, all under Dolan's guidance.
