San Marcos fended off a late charge by Santa Barbara on Friday night and channeled the energy of a big-time performance from its home crowd to claim a 48-40 victory.The Royals took the lead for good in the second quarter and built a 12-point cushion in the fourth quarter. San Marcos' boys basketball team fell into a nice rhythm on Wednesday night and Dos Pueblos could not keep up in a 55-40 Channel League decision at Sovine Gym.The Royals spread it around and found contributions from just about everywhere.
