Westmont center fielder Terrell Wong has been named to the 2010 Rawlings NAIA Gold Glove Team. The award recognizes nine individuals, one at each defensive position, based on their fielding success. Leary leads Warriors in regular season finale

Tim Leary earned a complete game victory and hit a game winning home run as Westmont Baseball (13-34, 9-26 GSAC) split with Azusa Pacific (20-29, 13-23) in the final day of the season for both teams. Azusa Pacific pounded out 18 hits in the first game to claim an 18-4 victory before Leary took the mound in game two and led the Warriors to a 2-1 win.Hits were hard to come by for both teams in the second game. Westmont’s baseball team played the role of spoiler on Saturday by splitting a doubleheader at Point Loma.The Warriors held on to win the second game, 5-4, to make Point Loma’s chances of repeating as GSAC champion difficult. The Sea Lions will have to sweep their four-game, regular season-ending series with Cal Baptist next week if they are to win the title. The Master’s (17-19, 10-14 GSAC) proved to be inhospitable hosts on Saturday as the Mustangs defeated Westmont Baseball (10-25, 6-18 GSAC) in a Golden State Athletic Conference doubleheader in Santa Clarita. Good pitching not enough for Westmont against Mustangs

Despite solid pitching performances from junior left-handers Jacob Regalado and Gregg Pellici, Westmont Baseball suffered a 5-3 loss to The Master’s on Wednesday afternoon at Russ Carr Field. Brian Rauch allowed just three hits in a complete game 8-1 victory as non-conference opponent Chapman (20-4) defeated Westmont (10-20) on Thursday afternoon at Russ Carr Field. Westmont baseball cancels Wednesday game

Westmont Athletics was informed today that La Sierra University will not be sending their baseball team to Santa Barbara for Wednesday's scheduled game. La Sierra Athletic Director Javier Krumm informed Westmont Athletic Director Dave Odell that they do not have enough healthy players to field a team this week.The Warriors will play home games on Thursday and Friday.
