UCSB to host public open house at Uyesaka Stadium

UCSB was picked sixth in the Big West Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll that was released Wednesday.Andrew Checketts takes over the Gaucho program after spending the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Oregon. Foresters to induct Hall of Fame members at Friday banquet

Three new members of the Santa Barbara Foresters Hall of Fame will be honored at a dinner this Friday night that also serves as a fundraising event for UCSB's Caesar Uyesaka Stadium and Hugs for Cubs.The Banquet, which features guest speaker Clint Hurdle, begins at 5:30 p.m. at Earl Warren Showgrounds. Oxy coach Hawkins joins baseball staff at UCSB

UCSB baseball coach Andrew Checketts has added Jason Hawkins, the former head coach at Occidental College, to the his coaching staff, the team announced on Monday.Hawkins rounds out the full-time Gaucho coaching staff as he joins the UCSB staff after three successful seasons heading the Occidental squad. New UCSB baseball coach Andrew Checketts went back to his roots to find an assistant coach.Checketts has hired Eddie Cornejo from UC Riverside and Riverside Community College to join his staff in Santa Barbara.
