THE 2011 BEACH SOCCER SUMMER SLAM

TOURNAMENT OVERVIEW
—–TIME & PLACE: Santa Barbara’s Beach Soccer Summer Slam will go down Saturday, July 9 on Santa Barbara’s West Beach, nestled between the Harbor and Stearns Wharf. The Tournament kicks off at 10:30 a.m. and will be completed by 4 p.m. (Exact times differ for each division, tournament schedule to be posted here soon)
—–TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Summer Slam is currently accepting registration in four divisions: Open, Boys & Girls High School, and Adult Co-Ed. Each division will start with group play,
and the top teams in group play will advance into the medal round. Each team is guaranteed at least three matches.
—–TEAM GUIDELINES: Each team must roster a minimum of 7 players, and a max of 10. Play will consist of 5-on-5 at a time, including goalkeepers. Group-play consists of two 10-minute halves with a five-minute halftime. Championship matches will be extended to 15 minute halves. (Click Here for Printable Team Sign-Up Sheet)
—–TOURNAMENT GIVE-AWAYS: Each registered team will receive a digital team photo and players will be subject to free give-aways all day long. The Open Division features a $500 first-place prize. the winning Adult Co-Ed team receives a $100 gift card to The Neighborhood Bar & Grill and second place gets $50. All division winners will receive exclusive prize packages from Summer Slam sponsors.
—–OPEN DIVISION: The Registration Fee is slightly higher for the Open Division, allowing for a $500 cash prize purse. Open Division is co-ed, although teams are not required to be. Open Division semifinal matches and championship game will be extended to 15 minutes halves.
—–TOURNAMENT FEES: Team registration fees are meant to be very affordable at $225 per team. That’s just $23 per person for a full team!! Cost for an Open Division entry is a little extra, $275 per team, to make room for the $500 cash prize. Early Registration ended May 27.
—–AFTER PARTY AND AWARDS BANQUET: All competitors over the age of 21 are invited to the Neighborhood Bar at 235 West Montecito Street for an after party where the cash prize presentation will take place to the Open Division Champion. Festivities begin at 5 p.m.
