Dos Pueblos' Jay Larinan smashes a kill against Ventura High School

Dos Pueblos' volleyball team earned a big comeback win against Ventura, 20-25, 18-25, 25-21, 28-26, 15-10, handing the Cougars their first loss in league play.Gabe Burdick led Dos Pueblos with 22 kills, while Mansai Conner pitched in seven kills and two blocks, though several other players stepped up big time to help in the Chargers victory, said coach Chris Hughes.Sophomore Jackson Wopat had three blocks, two kills, and three digs, along with an ace that won the final game."Wopat … [Read more...]

Bishop Diego swept by Oak Park in TVL opener

Bishop Diego's boys volleyball team was swept in its first Tri -Valley League match, 25-13, 25-15, 25-16, at Oak Park on Thursday.Johnny Brand led the way for the Cardinals with 10 kills, while Brandon Gonzalez also had a good performance with four kills and five digs, said coach Jason Donnelly.Bishop Diego falls to 7-4 overall.The Cardinals return to action Tuesday at home against Nordhoff. … [Read more...]

Carpinteria loses first TVL game to Malibu

Warriors notch first win of the season

Carpinteria's golf team earned its first win on Thursday, beating Santa Paula 462-595 at Montecito Country Club.Led by senior Ian Craddock, the Warriors overcame poor weather conditions by finishing with one of their best scores in recent years."This was the worst weather we've played in two years," said Carpinteria Coach Steve Benzin.
