Three Westmont players earn All-American honors

Half of Westmont's starters have been named 2012 NAIA Men's Tennis All-Americans. Senior Bryan Cox of Alamo, California was named to the first team. Tim Goranson of Falkenberg, Sweden and Rodrigo Schaefer of Florianopolis, Brazil were placed on the second team. Warriors fall in NAIA quarters

Westmont Men's Tennis lost a 5-0 match to top-seeded Fresno Pacific on Thursday at the NAIA Men's Tennis Championship in Mobile, Alabama. Kristin Hempy improved her heptathlon score by 53 points while competing at the Claremont Classic IX Heptathlon on Thursday and Friday.Hempy entered the competition with the thirteenth highest score recorded in the NAIA this season and as of Saturday morning, moved up to number 11. Alex Moore, husband of Westmont coach Kirsten Moore, dies

Alex Moore, the husband of Westmont College women’s basketball coach Kirsten Moore, died Wednesday from complications following surgery, the school announced in a press release.Alex Moore, 31, was an assistant professor in kinesiology at Westmont. The couple met at the college in 2005 when Kirsten became the women’s basketball coach. Head coach Mark Basham will take his eighth-ranked Westmont men's tennis team (11-9) to Mobile, Alabama for the third time in as many years. Warriors taken out by Concordia

They fought to the very end, but in the ninth game of the Golden State Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament on Thursday night the Westmont season came to a conclusion. The Warriors lost 6-4 to the #11 Eagles of Concordia, who are undefeated in the tournament. Crocker receives NAIA, GSAC honors

After recording three wins in approximately 25 hours last weekend, Westmont's Mitch Crocker has been named both the Golden State Athletic Conference and NAIA National Pitcher of the Week. Crocker earned the awards by helping the Warriors defeat the Lions of Vanguards in the second game of a doubleheader on Friday in Costa Mesa and both games of a doubleheader in Santa Barbara on Saturday. Warriors bring in five titles at GSAC Championships

Five Warriors won GSAC Championship crowns as Westmont Men's and Women's Track each finished third at the GSAC Track and Field Championships held on Friday and Saturday in Azusa.The finish is the highest for the men since 2006 and for the women since 1999.
