Former Santa Barbara High star Eve Ettinger returned home from USC and won the California Beach Volleyball Association Women’s AA Tournament with partner Betsi Metter at East Beach last weekend.Ettinger plays beach volleyball for the Trojans, while Metter plays for Loyola Marymount. She wasn’t having her best day of throwing, but Dos Pueblos sophomore Stamatia Scarvelis kept her composure and uncorked a mark of 45-3 to win the Division 2 shot put title at the CIF Divisional Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Mt. The San Marcos girls 4x400 meter relay team took seventh place at the CIF Division 3 Finals at Cerritos College.The team consisted of Jill Fisher, Emily Allen, Annie Thwing and Kayling Koopmans. Janelle Nguyen qualified for the finals in the 500 free at the CIF Division 1 swimming prelims at the Riverside Community Swim Complex on Thursday.Nguyen clocked 4:56.23 to reach Saturday's finals. San Marcos' Dasha Depew swam the 200 yard freestyle in 1:56.61 at the CIF Division I prelims at Riverside Community College on Thursday.
