Ventura took Friday’s high-stakes water polo match against Dos Pueblos, 12-6, to claim the Channel League’s third and final playoff spot.
Dos Pueblos had won the day before at home in the regular-season finale to force a play-in game.
Dylan Elliott scored three times for the Chargers. Taylor Gustason’s two and one from Madison Montag filled out the score sheet. Senior goalkeeper Garrett Carlson had eight saves and played a great game according to Chargers head coach Chris Parrish.
Dos Pueblos completes its season with an 11-17 record.
