Jessie Jimenez scored a goal and assisted on another, and Dos Pueblos did all its scoring in the first 20 minutes in a 3-0 boys soccer win over Santa Ynez on Monday.
The Chargers got on the board in the fourth minute on a Jimenez corner kick. Defender Calvin Schipper rose above everyone and headed the ball into the back of the net.
“That early goal might have got them on their heals a bit as we scored again in the 13th minute” DP coach Matt York said.
Jimenez put the ball away for a 2-0 lead.
Five minutes later, Manny Nwosu finished a left-footed shot to complete the scoring. Brian Gutierrez assisted.
“Manny is coming off a great football season and we’re glad to have him back with us,” said York.
Tave Grabenheinrich picked up the shutout in goal. York also praised the play Schipper at center back.
DP hosts Moorpark on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
