BWP: Morrison scores five, Royals oust Buena 18-9

There was plenty of offense coming from both teams in the Channel League water polo matchup on Tuesday, but it was San Marcos that got the upper hand in an 18-9 conclusion at the Royals’ own swimming pool.

James Morrison led the San Marcos offense with a game-high of five goals while George Kuesis and Spencer Wood weren’t too far behind with three.

Felipe Carsalade and Miles Cole each tallied two goals apiece. Jack Palmer came up with eight saves in goal.

“We got off to a good start winning the first quarter 5-0 and got contributions from a lot of guys,” said coach Jeff Ashton. “Miles Cole has been a consistent force at center requiring double teams in almost every game which has opened up scoring opportunities for a lot of other guys.”

San Marcos maintains its undefeated league record with the victory as it improves to 2-0 (11-5 overall). The Royals will return to competition on Saturday as they will place Martin Luther King and Servite respectively.
