Unbeaten Dons, Cardinals hold rankings

Santa Barbara High and Bishop Diego stayed undefeated and ranked in the top 10 in their respective divisions in the latest CIF football polls.

Santa Barbara (3-0) remains No. 5 in the Western Division after its 52-7 demolishing of previously eighth-ranked Channel Islands last Friday night. The Dons take on their third Pacific View League opponent this Friday when they host Rio Mesa (2-1), which is coming off a win over defending Channel League champion Ventura. The Spartans lost their season opener to Camarillo, the top-ranked team in the Northern Division.

Bishop Diego (3-0) remained at the No. 9 spot in the Northern Division after its 29-23 win over a tough La Salle team. The Cardinals will play a division opponent this week as they travel to Cabrillo of the Los Padres League.
