Dons ride Peus’ hot hand to 42-0 win

Quarterback Brett Peus was on fire in Santa Maria on Friday night, leading the Dons to a 42-0 victory over the Saints in a non-league football game.

Peus threw for five touchdowns and completed 12 of 18 passes for 356 yards. Receiver Chris “Tic” Jellison had a big night, catching three passes for 167 yards and two scores. The TDs covered 64 and 55 yards. Blake Kelley caught three balls for 100 yards, including a 76-yard score. Mason Bigelow had five catches for 90 yards.

Santa Barbara had two punt returns for touchdowns called back by penalties.

Santa Barbara improves to 2-0, outscoring its opponents 106-8.

The Dons play their home opener next Friday against undefeated Channel Islands.
