8 local players earn water polo All-American honors

Eight Santa Barbara Water Polo Club members have been named to Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-American teams for 2015.

The ACWPC selects All-American teams for NCAA Division 1, 2 and 3.

In Division I, Kiley Neushul (Dos Pueblos High School/Stanford) and Sami Hill (DPHS/UCLA) were selected to the First Team while Kodi Hill (DPHS/UCLA) was picked to the Third Team. Jamie Neushul (DPHS/Stanford) and Charlotte Hendrix (SBHS/Harvard) are on the Honorable Mention team.

Laurel Kistler (DPHS/UCSD) is a Division 2 First-Team selection. Jessica Gaffney (SBHS/Claremont) made the Division III Second Team and Rose Koper (SMHS/Claremont) received Division III Honorable Mention accolades.

In other news, Sami Hill, Kiley Neushul and Kami Craig (SBHS/USC) were on the U.S. Senior Women’s National Team that won the 2015 FINA World League title in Shanghai, China on June 14th. The trio also are on Team USA’s roster for the 2015 Pan American Games, which are being held in Toronto, Canada, next week. Rocio Fesembeck (SBHS/SBCC), who starred at Santa Barbara High and for Santa Barbara City College, will compete for Argentina.

Team USA opens play against Mexico on July 7th.
