BVB: Harris delivers, Cardinals sweep Nordhoff

John Harris’ powerful net play proved to be the difference for the Bishop Diego boys volleyball team as they swept Nordhoff 25-21, 25-17, 25-20 on Thursday on the road.

Harris was relentless up front, tallying 17 kills accompanied by only a single error. He hit .500 on the night. Luca Jordano displayed his versatility on both ends of the floor as he racked in 9 kills, 11 digs, and 4 aces. Mike Agnoli hammered down 5 kills on the night.

“Our boys showed some great character tonight. Playing their third night in a row after two emotional matches, the easy thing would be to just go through the motions. They did just the opposite and took care of business,” said head coach Jason Donnelly.

The Cardinals (8-3 in league) will host their crosstown rival Carpinteria High in a much-anticipated rematch on Tuesday.
