BVB: Busch joins Dons attack in sweep of Buena

Santa Barbara High added more firepower to its attack on Tuesday when 6-6 Nick Busch became eligible to play.

Busch had to sit out the first month of the season due to CIF transfer rules. He transferred to Santa Barbara from Bishop Diego at the start of the school year. He sat out the first month of basketball season, too.

In his volleyball debut at Buena on Tuesday, Busch had three kills in a 25-12, 25-21, 25-17 sweep.

JM Cage led the way in a balanced Dons attack with eight kills and Cooper Johnson added six. Setter Cord Pereira handed out 39 assists and Barron Mainz led the back-row defense with 17 digs.

The Dons complete the first round of Channel League play at 4-0 and improve to 8-4 overall. They play at San Marcos on Thursday.
