Santa Barbara High basketball players Amber Melgoza and Ben Clay have been named the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Athletes of the Week.

The juniors tore it up on the court, leading their respective teams into the CIF semifinals.

Melgoza poured in a school-record 50 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to power the Santa Barbara girls to an 89-76 quarterfinal victory over Summit High in Fontana on Saturday. Matched up against taller Hart post players, he scored 20 points and hauled 14 boards in a 62-51 victory.
