GLF: Vigna goes 4 under, Chargers get season low

Dos Pueblos freshman Bella Vigna continued to raise the bar by lowering her score, carding a four-under 31 at Buenaventura Golf Course on Thursday in the Chargers’ 188-233 victory over Buena.

Vigna’s nine-hole round consisted of four birdies and five pars. Chargers coach Rob Schiff believes the 31 is a school record.

The 188 is a season low for Dos Pueblos, bettering a 191 from Sept. 16. Vigna had a 33 in that match and has averaged 35.6 strokes per nine holes over her last five matches.

Three other Chargers were in the 30s, lead by Miraya Ramirez’s 37. Megan Caird shot a 38 and Mika Henrickson came in with a 39. Julia Forster and Jamie Sharpe tied each other with 43s.

“We finally played a decent round on the road which was good for us,” Schiff said.

The Chargers improve to 10-0, 5-0.

 

“It’s pretty impressive for a ninth grader to score that low,” said Chargers head coach Rob Schiff, who
