WSoc: No. 8 Warriors drop second straight

LA MIRADA – For the second game in a row, #8 Westmont Women’s Soccer (7-3, 2-2 GSAC) was held scoreless and fell to #25 Biola (9-1, 3-0) by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday in La Mirada. Westmont took 13 shots and placed six on goal, but did not find the net in the Golden State Athletic Conference showdown.

The winning goal came in the 64th minute from Margaret Guadarrama who sent a cross from Taylor Venegas to the far post. Biola tallied nine shots, three of which were on goal. With the win, the Eagles take over sole possession of first place in the GSAC.

As a result of the loss, Westmont fell into third place in the league standings. The Warriors will travel to Fullerton on Saturday to take on Hope International in a game beginning at noon.

In other GSAC action today, #5 Concordia (8-2-1, 2-0-1) posted a 7-1 win over Arizona Christian. Concordia has moved into a second place, two points behind Biola and one point ahead of Westmont.
