CIF Football Polls: Dons crack Western Division top 10

Three straight wins by Santa Barbara High’s football team has earned it a top-10 ranking in the CIF Western Division.

The Dons (3-2) are ranked ninth in this week’s poll. It’s their first ranking of the season.

Santa Barbara is coming off its best offensive showing, beating Royal 35-28. Quarterback Brent Peus passed for 316 yards and four touchdowns and played loose and confident.

The Dons face a tough challenge in their final game before Channel League play, traveling to undefeated Pacifica, the No. 3-ranked team in the division.
