Foresters win as Pintard inducted into NBC Hall of Fame

Santa Barbara Foresters manager Bill Pintard was inducted into the NBC World Series Hall of Fame on Thursday following his team’s 5-1 victory over the San Diego Waves in Wichita, Kansas.

Pintard, who collected his 800th career win with the Foresters this summer, has led Santa Barbara to four national championships at the NBC World Series.

BOX SCORE

Sam Odom was on point on Thursday as the Foresters’ starting pitcher. Odom blanked the Waves through six innings before the Waves scored once in the seventh. Odom finished allowing two hits in 6 2/3 innings with six strikeouts.

Granger Studdard and Ford Stainback each recorded a pair of hits. Studdard also walked twice and added two RBI.

The result eliminates the Waves from the tournament, leaving the Foresters as one of the final five teams alive. They play again on Friday against an opponent TBD.
