BVB: Dons sweep Eastside; look forward to Oak Park

Santa Barbara High picked up its game in its first-round CIF Division 2 playoff match in Lancaster on Tuesday and rolled past host Eastside, 25-20, 25-14, 25-21.

Tristan Fauntleroy put away a team-high 15 kills and Hayden Millington added 13 to pace the Dons into a second-round home match on Thursday against Oak Park. Setter Cord Pereira dished out 45 assists.

“We’ve moved on,” Santa Barbara coach Chad Arneson said. “It was a good match for us. We hope to keep on improving. We have a tough match coming up against Oak Park.”

Arneson encouraged the Santa Barbara High students to come out and support the team on Thursday.

“We’re looking forward to a tough second-round match. It will be fun,” he said.

9-5 for the season.
