Sam Metzger and Bennett Reichard each shot 1-over par 73 to share medalist honors, leading San Marcos to a 378-405 win over Buena in a Channel League-opening golf match at Olivas Golf Course.
“It is always tough to win a league opener on the road, so we are very happy to get the win,” San Marcos coach Aaron Solis said. “We are continuing to improve and we will need to because the Channel League is extremely competitive this year.”
The Royals are 3-0 overall while Buena is 3-1.
