Niels Andersen shot a 76 to earn medalist honors and lead San Marcos to a 394-413 boys golf win over Ventura in a Channel League match at Rancho San Marcos on Thursday.
Sam Metzger fired a 78 and Carlos Contreras, Ethan Habecker and Bennett Reichard each shot 80 for the Royals (5-1, 2-1).
“It was good to get back on the winning track after losing a tough match to Dos Pueblos on Tuesday,” San Marcos coach Aaron Solis said. “But we know we are still leaving strokes out on the course and we are not reaching our potential yet. We can be scary if we can reach our potential.”
