WRS: Martinez, Cox can’t be beat at Pete Duca Invite

Eden Martinez and Cameron Cox captured titles on Saturday at the Pete Duca Invitational at Nipomo High School, leading the Dos Pueblos wrestling team to a fifth-place finish.

Cox won in the 132-pound division while Martinez championed the 152-pound class.

The Chargers had a number of other podium results, with Jeff Uyesaka winning his semifinal match and reaching the final for 145 pounds. Dos Pueblos started the day with nine wrestlers in the semifinals.

Of those who got knocked out in the semis, Noah Stevens, Josh Murphy and Jonathan Coronado came back to win their final contests to earn third place.
