Presidio Sports’ County Football Fab 5

St. Joseph climbed back into the Fab 5 after its stirring comeback win at Paso Robles last Friday.

The Knights rallied from 10-0 deficit late in the fourth quarter and won the Pac-7 game in double overtime, 17-10. Quarterback Curry Parham threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Gabe Becerra with 2:17 left, the defense held Paso Robles on downs and Parham guided the team into field goal range. Jon Chartier booted a 26-yard, game-tying field goal with 26 seconds remaining to force overtime.

Mateo Becerra ran 3 yards in the second overtime period for the winning score.

The win was a huge confidence boost for the Knights, who the previous week were blanked 27-0 by Arroyo Grande. This week, they host league unbeaten Atascadero.

Top-ranked Bishop Diego smothered Santa Paula, 44-0, behind a big game from BJ Murillo. He returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, caught a 48-yard TD pass and had five solo tackles (7 total) and two pass deflections.
