A 4-0 start by San Marcos has gotten the attention of voters in the CIF football polls.
The Royals received the No. 9 ranking in this week’s Western Division top-10. After going 1-9 last season, they have made an impressive turnaround under coach Anthony Linebaugh.
San Marcos is averaging 36 points a game.
In the Northwest Division, Bishop Diego remains the No. 1 team followed by three fellow Tri-Valley League members: Nordhoff, Oak Park and Carpinteria.
In 8-man football, Cate fell from No. 1 to No. 5 after falling to Mojave. Laguna Blanca cracked the top-10 with a No. 8 ranking.
