Dos Pueblos’ Gabe Speier has been named to the Southern Section’s All-CIF First Team for Division 2 as the selections were announced on Tuesday.
The Channel League MVP struck out 87 batters in 57 2/3 innings pitched and held an ERA of 2.06 while taking the mound against DP’s toughest opponents. Speier was 5-1 in his starts and recorded a save.
At the plate, Speier was able to post a .412 batting average.
Division-2 champion Cypress, who ousted Dos Pueblos in the second round of CIF, has three players on the First Team, including Player of the Year David Fletcher.
