‘Warpath U’, ‘Papi Suave’ lead SB’s March Madness contest

Warner Anderson, AKA “Warpath U”, is leading Presidio Sports’ March Madness contest heading into this weekend’s Final Four and the final three games of the tournament.

The winner will be crowned following Monday’s national championship game. The winner’s photo will be featured in the Santa Barbara Sentinel and on PresidioSports.com. They will also receive a complimentary deep-tissue sports massage from Spa Del Mar at the Fess Parker Double Tree Resort.

Warner has made 38 out of 60 correct picks so far. In the Final Four he correctly picked Louisville, Michigan and Syracuse. Louisville is his champion.

“Ilanko N’s Baller Bracket” is close behind with 41 out of 60 correct picks, and with Louisville and Michigan still in the running. Both top competitors have Louisville taking home the championship so “Warpath U” is in the drivers seat.

Participant “Papi Suave” picked Syracuse to win the national championship and will win the bracket if the Orangemen pull through. Remarkably, Papi Suave is currently sitting in 38th place but will make the huge jump because noone else picked Syracuse.

Another scenario would have Presidio Sports writer Barry Punzal winning the contest should Michigan take the title. Punzal and Presidio Sports publisher John Dvorak have correctly chosen the most amount of games overall with 42-of-60. Dvorak is out of the running as his correct picks came mostly from earlier rounds.

In its first year of competition, Presidio Sports’ March Madness bracket registered 101 participants.

Other prizes include a gift card to Santa Barbara Brewing Company and gift certificates to Key 2 Fitness.
