Ten: Ferrari, Lincoln lead Royals over Rams

Luca Ferrari and Owen Lincoln swept three sets each for San Marcos on Friday in the Royals’ 10-8 non-league win at Cate.

“Luca and Owen were impressive today,” said Royals head coach Jarrod Bradley. “They served effectively, kept their groundstrokes deep in the court and, most importantly, made very few errors.”

Ferrari didn’t lose a single game in three sets.

The Royals’ top doubles team of Travis Smelley and Jake Wheelock won two of three. Their come-from-behind victory in their last set helped San Marcos clinch the team win.

Parker Gribb and Alex Erhling highlighted Cate’s day with a sweep at No. 1 doubles.

It was the second match of the season for both teams. San Marcos is 1-1, Cate 0-2.
