MBK: Turnovers cost Warriors big in loss

Westmont Men’s Basketball, ranked at number eight in the NAIA, suffered a 93-61 loss at Concordia on Saturday.

Twenty-eight turnovers proved to be the Warriors undoing, along with 13 offensive rebounds by Concordia. The Warriors made 27 less field goal attempts than the Eagles (72 to 45) and correspondingly made only 20 field goals to the Eagles 36.

Concordia’s Dakota Downs led the Eagles with 23 points and 13 rebounds while Peter Smith added 18 points.

Westmont was led in scoring by Preston Branson with 14 points and Jordan Sachs with 12. Sachs also pulled down seven rebounds.
