Shoemaker scored a career-high 24 goals in the 2012 season, tying him for fourth on the squad. Opening the season with a six-game scoring streak, the senior scored in 17 of the Gauchos’ 28 contests and tallied five multiple-goal performances. Shoemaker posted two goals across UCSB’s eight conference matchups and contributed three additional goals at MPSF Championships.

Starting all 28 contests for the Gauchos, he compiled 14 assists and 14 steals. The senior garnered 32 earned penalties or ejections, good for second most on the team. Shoemaker also remained at the top of the statistics, placing second with eight field blocks on the season.

UCSB concluded the year ranked eighth nationally, with a 16-12 overall record to mark the Gauchos’ second-consecutive winning season. The team posted a 1-7 mark in MPSF play, and placed seventh in last weekend’s conference tournament.

Though the Gauchos will lose two graduating starters, UCSB will return the remainder of its team with the addition of nine redshirt freshmen.
