Here’s a look back on some of our favorite images from the past month of action. Events include the AVP Championships, college and high school sporting events, and the Pier-to-Peak Half Marathon.

Pier to Peak Half Marathon

The Pier to Peak Half Marathon comes every year on Labor Day Weekend, unofficially bringing the Santa Barbara summer sports season to a close. This competitor climbs up Gibraltar Road with the race’s starting points, Stearns Wharf, below.??(Dvorak)

UCSB’s Charlie Miller rises above the fray only to have Harvard keeper Joe Festa punch the ball away from danger. The Gauchos’ men’s soccer team remains undefeated going into October. (Dvorak)

Dos Pueblos boys cross country team

The Dos Pueblos boys cross country team is the top-ranked team in Division 2. The boys got together for a team photo after dominating the season’s first Channel League meet.?(Dvorak)

UCSB vs. UCLA SoCal Tournament

UCSB’s Derek Shoemaker makes an effort to affect a shot from UCLA’s Danny McClintick during the SoCal Tournament, a men’s water polo tournament that brought the country’s best college water polo teams to Santa Barbara. UCSB placed second in the tournament behind the four-time defending national champion USC Trojans.?(Dvorak)
