Dons win 60th straight Channel League match

Santa Barbara High’s girls tennis team completed another unbeaten Channel League campaign, beating Dos Pueblos 11-7 in the regular season finale.

The win was the Dons’ 60th straight in league play and they won their 34th straight title.

“This match gave us the opportunity to use a great deal of our roster, and they played well,” said coach Steve Geremia.

Santa Barbara used seven players in singles and fielded six doubles teams.

Next up for the Dons is the Channel League individual tournament on Monday at Dos Pueblos.

“We’re looking forward to the league tournament, the CIF tournamanet as a team, and the CIF individual tournament,” said Geremia. “The league tournament will give us a chance to play some good matches.”
