Goleta’s Janelle Nguyen took first place in the 200-meter butterfly at this week’s Southern California Junior Olympics competition in Thousand Oaks.
The Santa Barbara Aquatics Club swimmer, who will be a senior at Dos Pueblos this year, posted a winning time of 2 minutes and 20.23 seconds.
The CSSC JO Meet was hosted by the Conejo Valley Swim Club at California Lutheran University.
