Providence Hall joins Condor League

Providence Hall's girls basketball team reached the Division VI CIF Championship game in 2012.

The Providence Hall Lions will play in the Condor League, beginning the 2012-13 school year.

?We are absolutely thrilled to accept this invitation,? states Providence Hall athletic director Keith Luberto. ?The Condor League schools, like Providence Hall, are academically rigorous; are similar in size; and are close by geographically. We have played the Condor teams multiple times in multiple sports and the experience has always been very positive.?

For the past two years, Providence Hall has competed in the CIF as a freelance school. Benefits of joining the Condor League include opportunities to compete for conference championships and automatic qualification for berths in CIF playoffs.

With Providence Hall joining the Condor League, there are now three Condor League schools in the Santa Barbara area: Laguna Blanca in Hope Ranch, Cate School in Carpinteria, and Providence Hall in downtown Santa Barbara. Other Condor League schools are located in Ojai and Los Olivos.

For 2012-2013, Providence Hall will field boys and girls cross-country teams; boys and girls basketball teams, boys and girls volleyball teams; and boys and girls track and field teams.
